While being honored at an awards ceremony, foremost scientist Dr. Caldwell is kidnapped by the evil Dr. Zapp in front of many onlookers, including Caldwell's teenaged son Jan who wants his latest invention called the Astro-Helmet. Feeling that the police are powerless to find his father, Jan decides to strike out on his own, using the Astro-Helmet and a suit invented by his father. While patrolling the city from the air, Jan is spotted by Spider-Man who gives chase and confronts him...
