Dr. Agasa, Motota, Mitsuhiko, and Ayumi were having dinner at a restaurant on the third floor of a building in the city. As they sit looking out, they see through the curtains of an apartment building across the street a man and a woman who look like they are having a friendly party. Then it changes to a woman being attacked by a man. The four panic and call the police, but the only people in the room where they saw the shadow are a woman named Yuko Kokubu, who seems to be the owner of the house, and her dog. The policeman who checked the room also said that there was only a woman in the room, so they were not taken seriously. Motota, Mitsuhiko, and Ayumi visit Conan to discuss this matter...
