Yuito and his platoon make their way back to Suoh, were a state of emergency has been enacted. Tsugumi discovers that New Himuka's forces are on standby and the platoon suddenly realizes why: Nagi has been deployed to kill Yuito and forcibly remove his brain. Unwilling to fight his friend, Yuito lures Nagi to the secret location they used to train back when they were just cadets. Watching this area causes Nagi to struggle against the brainwashed imposed on him by the New Himukan government. Unfortunately, his brain cannot handle the two struggling sides of Nagi's psyche and he dies, but not before apologizing to Yuito for all the trouble he has caused him...
