Shima, enrolled in the same school, happens upon her and accompanies her. Mitsumi ends up running barefoot to make it to the entrance ceremony late but just in time for her ceremonial address as the representative for the first-years. Despite forgetting to have the script with her, she successfully gives the entire speech from memory, then proceeds to throw up on her homeroom teacher out of nervousness and exhaustion. Mitsumi finds out she is in the same class as Shima, who asks to be friends.
