Takayuki's manager and the HR rep for the restaurant chain offer Takayuki a chance to apply for full-time work. As Takayuki mulls over the possibility of being on staff, Mitsuki has gotten very depressed about her failing relationship with Takayuki, and contacts Shinji for comfort. Takayuki visits Haruka again, and tries to fulfill her wish of finding a rare children's book Mayaru's Gift. He had a copy before the accident, but it had worn out, and after not getting much luck from the bookstores, he gets help from an unexpected source.
