Fu Nian calls Zilu and Zifang before him to punish them for harbouring the Mohist rebels and rejecting the Confucian ideals. Zilu takes responsibility, and Zifang argues that it is the right thing to do, not to sit idly by while injustice occurs. They each argue their cases, using Confucius' own teachings. Old Master Xunzi hears the argument and accuses Fu Nian of selfishly turning in the children, Ziming and Ziyu, to save the school...
