This leads to big complications; customs officers mistake the Mozarts for merchants and ask them to pay high tariffs. Amadeus gets the whole harbor – including Empress Maria Theresia and her children – dancing with a sensational musical performance that convinces the customs officers. Now, nothing stands in the way of a visit to the imperial castle.
