At the beach, Sakura is on a date with her fiancé, unaware they are being spied on. Meanwhile, a boy ordered by his mother to get rid of his pet Pochi, carries it around in a box hoping to find someone to adopt it. After abandoning it, it turns out the pet is actually just Cherry. Sometime later, Ataru receives a postcard from the water-yōkai, who has been adopted by the boy.
