This is the work of the mushroom-like Chamblemon, who are using happy brides to grow mushrooms that they eat for sustenance. Hiro, Gammamon, and Kiyoshiro fall victim to the spores, but the Chamblemon are defeated after showing a surprising reaction when they eat the mushrooms growing from Kiyoshiro's body.
