When Bonda is pitching, Tōkō makes a series of mistakes almost costing the Spiders the game. After the game Bonda awkwardly overhears Tōkō getting told off by Kitamura, Tōkō's old teammate in college and now a successful sports reporter. Kitamura thinks Tōkō should retire and has offered him a job with his family business.
