Shippo witnesses a girl named Koume taking away Kirara, being mistaken as Kuroro. Shippo and Koume later find Kuroro, after being hoarded with a plague of rats. Meanwhile, InuYasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango realize that Tesso is a rat demon who has illusive powers. Kuroro is able to reunite the two parties in effort of defeating Tesso.
