Riku reveals that eighteen years before, he had the demon jeweler Hösenki the Second to create a second Black Pearl using the late Lady Izayoi's reassembled rouge, which contain her tears of grief for Töga's death, and can create a path to his graveside. Hösenki then gives the Pearl and the rouge to Inuyasha and Kagome respectively, with Inuyasha placing the Pearl inside his right eye for safekeeping.
