Pernida blows Ashisogi Jizō apart using their Quincy bow, rapid-firing their nerves attached to arrows at Mayuri. Nemu saves Mayuri from an incoming arrow, but both of them are forced to sever an arm each to avoid the nerves. Mayuri berates Nemu for interfering and reveals that creating the next Nemu will be even more difficult if she becomes more independent, before regenerating their arms with a drug. Mayuri runs off to distract Pernida, tasking Nemu with injecting a nerve-coagulating agent into an arrow, to inject Pernida's body with it. The coagulant begins to spread up the nerves to Pernida, but they simply sever the finger before it could spread through the entire body. Mayuri then realizes that Pernida is evolving at an alarming rate and tries to warn Nemu, but is in turn saved again by her, who is pushing her body to the limit to output enormous power levels for a Soul Reaper. Nemu then compresses 6% of her soul and shoots Pernida through, but their exploding bits form arms once more and annihilate Nemu, absorbing almost all her remains and leaving Mayuri in shock, though the latter manages to save her brain. As Pernida reaches for Mayuri however, the latter reveals that Nemu's pituitary gland was implanted with an organ which forces synthetic cell division at an immense speed if not controlled by her brain. Pernida is overgrown into a blob and explodes, though the last of their nerves succeed in twisting Mayuri's legs backwards. Yumichika and Ikkaku save him, so Mayuri instructs them to find his body containers, holding Rangiku, Hitsugaya, Kensei and Rose, all of whom he succeeded to de-zombify at the cost of some of their life expectancy. Rangiku and Hitsugaya are released and Mayuri and Kenpachi are placed in their containers instead. Giselle and Liltotto reach Yhwach's keep, where a legion of Soldat stand in their way, so Giselle summons the zombified Meninas, Candice and Bambietta. Meanwhile, Haschwalth is attacked by Bazz-B as he is spying on Uryū's whereabouts.
