As soon as she arrives in Wonderland, Alice has a big surprise. The Queen of Hearts has taken her entire family on annual leave and left the royal wonderland throne. Alice, who has always dreamed of being a queen, applies to the Wonderlanders to represent the Queen of Hearts and, after passing a somewhat strange test, is accepted by them. Alice is overjoyed at first, but very soon she has doubts about whether it was right to want to be the queen of a country where cats vanish into thin air and eggs live on walls.
