Thirty-year-old Kiyoshi Adachi gains the ability to hear the thoughts of everything he touches, revealing that Yuichi Kurosawa, his well-liked co-worker, likes him. Adachi was not sure that Kurosawa likes, but later realizes Kurosawa's true feelings. He thinks his magical powers might be imaginary and comes to the realization that his powers are real. That night, Kurosawa comes over to his futon, but Adachi is unaware how to process it. Adachi commits to keeping his distance from Kurosawa because his love is too much for him, but a conversation with his boss brings Kurosawa back close. At a local restaurant, Adachi gives Kurosawa money for the meal and says he cannot keep "imposing" on him. Unsure what to do next, the former runs away.
