![]() The third season of South Park premiered on April 7, 1999, continuing the wild, crude, and satirical adventures of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. By this point, South Park had cemented itself as a cultural force, and Season 3 fully embraced its mix of absurd humor, social commentary, and shocking moments. This season introduces some of the show’s most bizarre and hilarious concepts, including the debut of the underachieving, yet unforgettable, character Towelie (“Don’t forget to bring a towel!”). Some of the standout episodes include Chinpokomon, a brilliant parody of the Pokémon craze, Sexual Harassment Panda, which hilariously mocks legal culture, and Jakovasaurs, featuring one of the most annoying species ever to invade South Park. Another major moment in Season 3 is the show’s first Halloween special, Korn’s Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery, featuring the band Korn as Scooby-Doo-style investigators. The season also features Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics, a full-blown musical episode packed with holiday-themed chaos. While still relying on its signature crude humor, Season 3 marks a turning point where the show becomes even more confident in its satirical voice, leading to some of the most memorable and ridiculous episodes in South Park history.
